Vote for Something

Before the 2004 election, we were assigned to design a poster to encourage people to vote, and have it hung around campus. I decided to list as many issues that I could find that were addressed by the people we were voting for and show how you don't just vote for a person but also many laws and issues that must be decided upon.

Design

I decided to use words because they are obviously powerful and also used a lot during elections. I didn't want to try to tell people to vote the way I was voting. I wanted to point out various issues that they might feel strongly about to show them that they're not just voting for a person, but issues that they might not realize are going to affect them and the people who are close to them.
The text starts out light at the top and has various issues in a brighter dark blue to give them a way to jump out and catch your attention. The text slowly fades as one reads lower so that when you get to the bottom, the main idea of the poster catches your eye. I've recently edited this because the gradient never worked in Illustrator and I had to group lines of text as color and I was very disappointed with it. It was reworked in Photoshop and turned out wonderfully.
