Design

This is one of my favorite pieces. I actually had a friend of mine take a picture of me in this position and various others and I chose this for one of my characters. I think this is probably the reason everyone I show this to thinks that it is a drawn version of myself, but that is far from the truth.

I wanted to draw the character in an interesting position and then shade it in a way that would fill it with contrast. I knew as soon as I finished the piece that I wanted to use an inverted version of the character as the background and it really helps the image pop. The position of her hand and eyesight always makes me smile for some reason. Maybe its because she knows something that you don't know.
