Design

The original drawing for this is a charcoal on illustration board I did for a figure drawing class. I kept hearing many students that they couldn't draw hands right so I decided to take up the challenge and draw a set of drawings with only hands in various positions. I love drawing hands. Sometimes I think that artists would feel like nothing without the use of their hands.

After I scanned the drawing to show to some friends, I started to play with it in Photoshop and eventually brought it into openCanvas and redrew the outline and shading before adding the effects of color to the hands and creating the background. I wanted the piece to feel light and happy and I feel the effects of the background get this across. And colors are always fun to play with. *laughs*
