Well why in the world would you want to know about the site or me? That's boring stuff!

Me? o.o

I'm a graphic designer whose hometown is a small city in North Dakota. My basic interests are in art and music This stems specifically into Japanese art, including prints as well as their comics, called manga. I love the inventive style and creative stories that they come up with. Most people might think of this as anime, but anime is just the animated version of a manga (anime getting its name from the word animation). I tend to draw in this style because I am most comfortable with it and am working to draw a comic or a few since I have many ideas for stories in my head.

I also really love Japanese and Korean music and have been learning to speak Japanese on my own for two years now and just started to learn Korean. They're both fascinating and fun languages, and I've been enjoying learning. Japanese is a very beautiful language, especially written with the kanji and kana. It takes a lot of memory and patience to learn kanji but I have noticed after drilling myself in writing it, I feel like my ability to draw has gotten better. *laughs* I know that sounds funny, but like I said, its such a beautiful language, the writing almost feels like you're writing art when writing kanji. And kanji can be an art in itself if you learn calligraphy, but that's quite beyond me at the moment!

I use the pseudonym Tori.Beru for most of my art now, mostly because I like it, its a Japanese version of my name, and I just don't feel like putting my name on the internet. I'm cool like that. You will often see on my graphics Tori.Beru with some katakana above it, or some kanji behind it, depending on which logo I felt like using that day.

Other than that, I'm a crazy typist. I hardly ever capitalize if I don't have to and whiz through sentences quicker than most. And I have a problem with using lots of faces, but have restrained myself on this site ^_^ I'm a fast learner if you take the time to explain something to me and encourage me to be creative. I love to think outside the box. I absolutely love color, but I also really love the contrast of black and white so art is really fun for me.
